New beginnings....

Well.

I've decided to join the dark side and create my own blog. I figure, I get such a kick out of other peoples' blogs its only fair to start my own. I'm also hoping my life is going to continue to get more interesting, and thus, I will have more things of interest to write about.

It has been quite an interesting week, particularly in terms of overcoming personal barriers. It's ironic, because I did suffer a bit of a defeat this week. For those of you who know me, you'll know how crazy I am about AIESEC. (If you don't know what AIESEC is, go to www.aiesec.org) I had applied to be on AIESEC Canada's Member Committee, and was rejected for the second time! So you think I'd be pretty depressed, particularly considering how upset I was last year. This all went down Thursday night. But by Friday lunch time, I was walking around with a big grin on my face. This is due mostly to the aforementioned personal barriers being overcome, along with some encouraging words from a few special people (thanks guys), a certain 5lb 14oz little surprise (don't worry, it's not mine!), mixed in with the fact that it was a beautiful, sunny, spring-like day, just perfect for contemplating new beginnings.

So, just to set the stage, I will be embarking soon on a new journey - I will be going through the selection process to become a Student Nominee (SN) in AIESEC-speak - in other words, I'll be going on exchange sometime within the next year. Where I'll end up, I have no idea - but I'm sure it will be an adventure, so stay tuned!
